It is so heartwarming to see the time, effort and love poured into these valentines and the amazing LIGHT being spread around the country in our sweet angel's honor.

After meeting with the multi-disciplinary Heart Failure and Transplant Team at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City last February to share Elysa's story, our foundation has been given the amazing opportunity to speak about myocarditis to the nursing staff at the same hospital. Over these three months, we will be giving five presentations titled, "Sudden Cardiac Arrest Within Hours of Presenting to the Emergency Department: A Case Study" to hundreds of nurses and staff from the hospital and outlying urgent care clinics for continuing nursing education credits. We are so honored by this opportunity and hope to spread awareness of the need for urgent diagnosis and treatment of this rapidly fatal condition in our children. Our fans once again provided tremendous support of our summer shirt sale campaign, purchasing 140 For Elysa t-shirts in a new design created by Patrick Cornolo of Speakeasy Tattoo in Chicago. Thanks to our generous supporters, we raised $1975 which will be matched by our foundation and donated directly to the Myocarditis Foundation to further research and education around viral myocarditis.
We know of at least two lemonade stands hosted by some of our youngest fans and raising awareness of myocarditis as well as money for our foundation! Many thanks to our little entrepreneurs in Chicago and Milwaukee for all of your support!

Our "letters from angels" campaign provided children all over the country the opportunity to bring light to patients in the two Denver children's hospitals. We collected hundreds of Valentines and small gifts from For Elysa supporters to brighten the day of over 250 children and their families.
Our "Share a Good Deed For Elysa" campaign was also a great success! Fans were encouraged to do a good deed and share our info flyer. From bringing cookies to the local EMS station, delivering hot coffee to your child's teacher or donating time to a food bank, our supporters were beacons of light to help spread awareness and love in Elysa's honor.

October-November 2013
Our limited edition sale of "For Elysa" tech t-shirts was a huge success! We are nearly sold out of the 217 shirts that we ordered and have collected many photos of Elysa fans wearing their shirts around town, in races, to sporting events and even trick or treating to raise awareness of the silent killer, myocarditis. Additionally, we raised nearly $2500 for the Myocarditis Foundation and The For Elysa Foundation. Thank you so much for the overwhelming support and effort to protect our community! Please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page or send an email to info@forelysa.org to be kept up to date on our next gear sale.

**ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES **
We have some excellent educational materials to host cardiac health awareness booths, and we need your help! Do you have a favorite race, community Fall festival, or school/church carnival that you love to attend and at which you could host a booth? We are looking for fans to help share info about cardiac health, CPR/AED, and general awareness of commonly overlooked cardiac concernes for pediatric and active adult populations. This is a great opportunity for kids looking to complete service hours or families seeking an opportunity to volunteer together (Elysa's little sisters are lending a hand in the picture below - it's that easy!).
Simply send an email to ForElysa@outlook.com and we can get started. This takes minimal work on your part, as we send everything you need for a comprehensive awareness both - you just make the reservation and wait for your materials to arrive. When the event is over, we will include shipping materials for you to drop all the leftover booth items in the mail back to us. And your community benefits from new cardiac knowledge to help protect themselves and their families and friends. Everyone wins!
We love hearing from our fans and followers! Please click on the envelope link above to send photos and descriptions of all of the wonderful things you are doing For Elysa so we can include you on our website and Facebook page! Just a few examples: lemonade stands, 5K's, bike races, community awareness booths, hosting a CPR training, sharing our foundation's info with your healthcare providers, and wearing our shirts around town ... all help to increase awareness and support our mission For Elysa! See more photos of our fans and followers at the bottom of this page --
